THE VIDEO UNDERGROUND opened in 2002, and initially sought to offer an alternative to the more traditional and mainstream world of Blockbuster-style video stores, which — oddly enough — don’t really exist anymore.

Today, the VU specializes in independent, cult and foreign films, while still bringing in new releases, time-honored classics, and everything in between. We are dedicated to creating and maintaining a video store that reflects the Jamaica Plain community, the city of Boston, and the interests of our incredible customers.
