Peter Jefferson's love of art stems from a family of painters, artists, and curators. He grew up in the heart of New York City, exploring it's museums and galleries.

He began drawing as an Engineer in Boston. At Carnegie-Mellon University, he received a Master of Architecture degree and began life drawing and painting in watercolors. Peter's art studies flourished under Dudty Fletcher at the DeCordova Museum School.

After 13 years of as part-time Big Island resident, he moved permanently to the Island in 2011. Currently he paints with Kohala plein air and Watercolor West Hawaii. Peter is an avid swimmer and golfer who loves to travel.

In addition to island landscapes and hula dancers, bamboo and resort golf courses, one of Jefferson’s most popular paintings has been his series of “Geisha Napescapes.” These have more of a graphic design quality to them, and capture the delicacy of the subject in vibrant colors.
