Whimsical and colorful, this chair embodies the energy & enthusiasm of school children. It is a terrific reminder of hope and courage making it an inspirational gift to yourself or that special someone!

ARTIST STATEMENT/INFLUENCE:

Students from the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades in our school, Durand Eastman Intermediate School in East Irondequoit, were invited to come to the Painting Party every Friday afternoon for 9 weeks. Select students who exhibited interest in the arts were invited guests. We worked with stamps made of softcut linoleum cut into leaf shapes and also used found objects to create interesting patterns. Students worked in groups of 4-5 at a time from the three grade levels.

We all worked under the quote " Creativity Takes Courage". Our inspiration came from the joy of working in art and our willingness to use our time, tools and skills to help other children in our community.
