Description

Installation art describes an artistic genre of three-dimensional works designed to transform the perception of a space. This work probes the mind and the heart with its stunning simplicity and honesty. It is art in one of its purest forms.

ARTIST STATEMENT/INFLUENCE:
My work concerns mortality, and the poetic transformation of dwelling spaces that occurs when loved ones pass away. Once familiar spaces become cold and arresting, as though the absence becomes stronger than the person's presence ever was. Their belongings become relics;eternally frozen in time, yet as the time passes it continues to feel as though they were just there, as though they left their shirt hung on the chair intending to come back for it. In a time of immense change and uncertainty, this work seeks to connect people through a theme that is still (and always will be) painfully immeasurable and unknown:loss and mortality.
