About the Cape School of Art
The Cape School of Art was instituted by Charles Hawthorne over 100 years ago. Inspired by the French Impressionists, he developed a style of painting, which he taught in New York and Provincetown, MA. The school thrives today with many of Lucas's contemporaries, including its current director, Hilda Neily, Cedric Egeli, Mary Giammarino, and John Clayton.
