Description
Have you heard of "Chaos Theory"? Have you wondered what it is? Have your friends wanted to know? This is a unique opportunity to have one of the world's experts in chaos theory give a private lecture uniquely tailored to the interests of your audience: perhaps a group of curious seniors or a coterie of budding scientists?
Tenor Boris Hasselblatt is by day Dr. Hasselblatt, a popular Professor of Mathematics at Tufts University. Dr. Hasselblatt is a world-renowned expert in Dynamical Systems, of which Chaos Theory is a well-known branch. His book on the subject is among the 50 most cited books in all of mathematics. He developed this lecture for the general public and has offered it in academic settings, in the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, and on cruises by Crystal Cruises, Dallmann Cruises and Silversea Cruises.
The lecture can be scheduled to last 30, 60 or 90 minutes in a mutually-agreed location accessible by the MBTA in the Boston area. Visual equipment (computer projector or HDTV) is required and Hasselblatt may be able to help arrange a venue in Boston or Medford/Somerville.
