Description

This traditional dagger is for ceremonial dress. It traveled 8,000 miles with an IAEM member to be in this auction. It includes the holster and belt.


Please remember that you may have difficulties transporting on airlines. It must be in checked baggage.


Janbiya, also spelled jambia, jambya, jambiya, and janbia (Arabic: جÙ†ۢبÙŠة‎ janbÄ«yah), is the Arabic term for a specific type of dagger with a short curved blade and a medial ridge that originated from Yemen. It is most closely associated with the people of Yemen and Najran in Saudi Arabia. Men typically above the age of 14 wear it as an accessory to their clothing.

Special Instructions

This item will be auctioned during the live auction to support the IAEM Scholarship Program. The live auction will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 6:00-7:30 p.m. on the stage in the back of the EMEX exhibit in the Savannah Convention Center. Winning bidders may pick up items at the auction and pay using cash, check or credit card.


To participate in the auction, you will need to register to bid. Stop by the IAEM Silent Auction Booth beginning Monday morning to register for your auction paddle. You may also register in the auction area immediately before the auction.
